Last weekend New World Auto Transport owners Steve and Daisy Wells packed their bags to head to the windy city of Chicago<\/del> Austin. The duo left their Katy headquarters to attend the chilly 2013 Rolex Grand-Am Race, the second-biggest event held on the Circuit of the Americas track since the Formula1 race in August 2012. On top of their general passion for all things \u2018fast cars\u2019, the couple is constantly searching for new target markets to cater to in order to further their business mission. In this case, they\u2019re covering the race car shipment<\/strong> base.<\/p>\n

Race car shipment and the Rolex Series GrandAm<\/h2>\n

Unlike the Formula1 race, the Grand-Am has a completely different fan feel. Patrons are welcome to mill about the paddocks while mingling with drivers and their cars. Besides getting this complete pit stop experience and exploring the new C.O.T.A. additions, Daisy Wells was able to take a hotlap, and she hitched a lap around the track with one of the drivers.<\/p>\n

Race car shipment<\/strong>: Business op amongst the fun<\/h2>\n

Although Steve and Daisy were able to romp around Austin\u2019s 6th<\/sup> street scene, they also gained valuable market insight when it comes to the racing industry. While at the F1 racetrack, the couple noticed that the logistics behind shipping race cars makes more sense economically and also adds convenience.<\/p>\n

\u201cInstead of independent, club drivers getting their own trucks, trailers and shipping their own cars, our option allows them to simply fly in and race,\u201d said Steve. \u201cIt becomes a matter of time and convenience.\u201d<\/p>\n

Steve also said that it\u2019s becoming common for a group of say, five guys to pull together to ship their cars to race day and back. They hope to expand their business in this arena.<\/p>\n
